The Kashmir Resolution - What my left lib friends don't get

Two thirds majority in the Rajya Sabha for the J&K resolutions. Who would have thought?

I admire the parties that stood with the NDA for their stand in the interests of the nation. BSP, TRS, AAP, TDP, YSRCP and BJD - you did the right thing by keeping aside political differences. Salute !

As for my friends on social media who see a Hindu conspiracy in this historic move -

 1. You have neither read/understood Dr.Ambedkar nor have any respect for emotions and aspirations of common people.
2.You want all migrants to the North East be given citizenship irrespective of when the illegal migration happened, but you don't want lakhs of residents of J&K since 1948 be given permanent citizenship.
3.You oppose imagined majoritarian tendencies in the rest of the country and in Indian polity, but support the rabidly majoritarian Wahabi militant fascism in the Kashmir valley.
4.You agitate for the plight of the SCs and STs in rest of the country, but ignore the travails of Valmiki safai karmacharis in J&K.
5.You want reservations in all sectors in the rest of the country, but support a regressive Article 35 A that does not allow reservations in colleges and jobs in J&K for minorities and EBCs.
6.You say Consitution is the supreme but prefer J&K to have its own constitution.
7.You bleed for gender injustice all over the world but look away at the gender discriminatory provisions in Article 35 A.
8.You want Rohingya muslim refugees to be taken care of but utter no words of support for the Kashmiri Pandits who have been refugees in their own country.
9.You reserve the right to protest and do fact finding missions all over the country, but have never 'dared' to visit the Kashmir valley for a fact finding mission. Instead, you prefer to interact in universities with radicalised students living off the largesse of the Indian union.
10.You give yourself the right to speak in flowery prose and poetry about the plight of Kashmir under the harsh tyranny of the Hindutva monster. But you fail to realise your awareness of Kashmir has come out of an echo chamber with no basis in a humanitarian understanding of reality.
11.Your knowledge of Kashmir is from books and media reports of fellow travellers. You have not spoken to a shikara wala, a labourer in the apple orchard or a saffron farm hand, a tourist guide or a Bakarwal horse whisperer. You have no idea how they survive during the jobless winters or how many families depend on the Amarnath Yatra for a livelihood.

And yet, your hearts may be in right place afterall. It is your heads that need cleansing. Else, you will continue to become increasingly irrelevant except in your echo chambers.
